We met on the Finch trail in 2021. Honestly it was Misty and Momo who introduced us. They decided they were friends before we did, so we ended up walking the same loop together most evenings.
Five years, two dogs, and a lot of walks later, here we are.

Almost everyone needs a visa to come to India, and it takes a little time to sort out, so please start early. Most of you are coming from Canada or Hong Kong, so here's what each of you needs.
Canadian passport
Your passport works for the India e-Tourist Visa, which is done entirely online. You fill in a form, upload a photo and a scan of your passport, and pay by card. The approval comes back by email in a few days. Print it and bring it with you.
Apply somewhere between a month and a week before you fly. The 30-day visa is plenty for the wedding. There's a one-year version if you want to travel around afterwards.

The HKSAR passport doesn't work for the online visa, so this one needs a bit more planning. You'll need a visa sticker in your passport, which means booking an appointment at the Indian Consulate in Admiralty.
Book that appointment as soon as you know you're coming. Processing takes a couple of weeks, so give yourself a month before the wedding to be safe.
cgihk.gov.inOn a BN(O) passport? You can use the online visa instead, the same as the Canadian side.
Another passport? Check whether it works for the online visa at indianvisaonline.gov.in. If it doesn't, you'll apply in person at your nearest Indian embassy or consulate.
One more thing for everyone. Since April 2026 India also asks for an e-Arrival Card, a short form you fill out online within 72 hours of landing. It's free and takes a couple of minutes. Do it the day before you fly, through the Su-Swagatam portal or app.

Fly into CCU, that's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International. About 45 minutes from the venue. December is genuinely the best time to be in Kolkata. Around 25 degrees during the day and cool in the evenings.
